Men’s Golf Hosts Advance Golf Partners Collegiate in Florida

PALM CITY, Fla. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team hosts its first tournament of the spring semester and second tournament of its season in Florida with its Advance Golf Partners Collegiate.
 
There will be 19 teams represented with 119 participants.  
 
Course: Hammock Creek Golf Club | Palm City, Fla.
 
Par/Yardage: Par 72/7169 yards
 
Format: 18 holes each day, Sunday-Tuesday; Tuesday will be a shotgun start
 
Scheduled to Compete for UNCG: Nick Lyerly, Randall Hudson, Tommy Lamb, Symon Balbin, Connor Brown, BJ Boyce (IND.), and Noah Connor (IND)
  • UNCG will be paired with Connecticut, Samford, & Drexel on Monday,

Last Time Out:
  • UNCG claimed a 22-stroke victory and four top-ten finishers after 54 holes of its Grandover Collegiate.
  • Symon Balbin led the Spartans with a second-place finish at nine-under-par (207) after a two-under-par (70) final round, just two shots off the leader.
  • Connor Brown leaped five spots on the final day of play with a final round score of four-under-par (68), finishing the tournament in fourth place at seven-under-par (209).
  • Noah Connor finished one stroke behind Brown, posting a six-under-par (210) tournament score to earn a share of fifth place.
  • Nick Lyerly finished in a tie for eighth place, while Randall Hudson concluded the tournament in a tie for 11th.
  • Tommy Lamb earned a top-25 spot as an individual.
  • UNCG's 70 birdies held the advantage over the field by 11.
Notes:
  • Currently, Lyerly is fifth among the SoCon field with a 70.83 stroke average and a low round of 66.
  • Connor is seventh averaging 71.25 strokes in 12 rounds of play.
  • Hudson is the next Spartan on the leaderboard, sitting 12th, averaging 72.00 strokes in 12 rounds.
  • Brown cracks the top 25 with a 72.92 stroke average.
Up Next:
UNCG will host its second tournament of the new year and third of the golf season with the Dorado Beach Collegiate from Sunday, February 26 to Tuesday, February 28 in Dorado, Puerto Rico at TPC Dorado Beach.
