JACKSONVILLE, FL Adam Deleo's bases clearing double in the ninth inning gave the UNC Greensboro baseball team the 10-7 victory over Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon at Alex Brest Field.

Deleo went 1-for-2 with three RBI, while junior Greg Feltes was 3-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBI and Guy Welsh had four hits on the day.

With the game tied 7-7 and bases loaded in the top of the ninth, Deleo smacked a double down the leftfield line to make the score 10-7 in UNCG's favor. Junior Clay Gibson pitched a scoreless ninth, including striking out the final two batters, to earn his first win of the year.

Feltes gave UNCG (7-6) a 5-0 lead in the second with his first career grand slam. Corey Overholtzer reached base on a fielder's choice, Tim Carrier singled to left and Matt Gaski walked before Feltes blasted the roundtripper to left field.

Jacksonville (10-11) scored two runs in the bottom of the second on a fielder's choice and a sacrifice fly from Matt Lopez. After UNCG scored again in the fourth, the Dolphins answered with a one-run homer by Ryan McArdle to make the score 6-3 going into the fifth.

The Dolphins continued to fight back, scoring a run in the fifth and seventh to close the UNCG lead, 6-5. Feltes, however, singled in the eighth to score Gaski, giving the Spartans the two-run lead. A Spartan error in the bottom of the inning allowed JU to score two runs to tie the game at seven going into the ninth.

Gibson (1-0) picked up the win after allowing no runs or hits and striking out two in 1-2/3 innings pitched. Starter Matt Gibbs allowed five runs on seven hits in 6-1/3 innings of work.

Tim Brown (0-1) took the loss for the Dolphins after allowing five hits and three runs in 4-1/3 innings on the mound. JU starter Matt Gardner allowed six runs on eight hits and struck out three in 3-2/3 innings.

UNCG closes out the weekend with a game against host North Florida on Sunday at 2 pm.
