WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's and women's competed at the JDL DMR Invitational at the JDL FastTrack on Saturday to tune up and wrap up the regular season.
Seven Spartans competed in a specific event for the first time in their careers.
Graduate student
Ariana Garcia was the lone UNCG student-athlete to post a career best time this weekend. Garcia ran a time of 5:04.26 in the mile, finishing seventh out of 37 competitors.
This was the first weekend that the Spartans ran a men's and a women's 4x400-meter relay. Both squads finished fourth overall. The women's quartet of Serena. Henderson,

On the men's side,
Colin Alexander,
Nicholas Thoma,
Colin Keck, and
Brandon Hernandez ran the relay in 3:59.14.
Four men Spartans competed in the 3000-meter run, where
Michael Zapherson,
Joe Thoma,
Dylan Christopher, and
Thomas Knepshield earned 33
rd-place to 36
th-place, respectively. Zapherson clocked in a time of 9:26.39 and J. Thoma ran a time of 9:27.52. Christopher ran the event in 9:32.06, while Knepshield wasn't far behind clocking in a time of 9:33.69.
