GREENSBORO, N.C. – Following a tough go against No. 10/13 Duke, the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team is ready to get back to Southern Conference (SoCon) action by hosting the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for three games this weekend.
The Spartans face the Mocs on Saturday, April 9 for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m., followed by a single game on Sunday, April 10 with a first pitch at 1:00 p.m.
UNCG is riding a six-game win streak against SoCon opponents. This is the first time since 2018 that the Spartans have went 6-0 to start SoCon play. The 2018 squad went 7-0 to start the season before falling to Mercer, 3-0.

In a 19-1 domination over Mercer on Sunday, March 27, the Spartans slugged eight home runs for the most home runs in a game in head coach
Janelle Breneman's era and to stats dating back to 2007.
Three of the eight came from
Grace Loftin. This was the fourth time in program history that a Spartan has hit three home runs in a game.
UNCG has had 21 games with two or more home runs. The Spartans have had four games with three home runs. There have been four games with four home runs, two games with five home runs, and one game with a season-best eight homers.
Jordan Gontram leads the way with 11 home runs, while

Samantha Lagrama has hit eight home runs, while

- UNCG fell to No. 10/13 Duke Wednesday night 11-1 in five innings, breaking up SoCon play this week.
- Scott tossed 3.1 innings, striking out seven in the circle and allowing seven hits.
- Loftin and Shipley had the lone hits for the Spartans, as they each had a double.
SCOUTING CHATTANOOGA
- The Mocs were voted to finish third in the SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Hannah Wood, Emily Coltharp, Liz Rodebaugh, and Gracey Kruse were all named to the preseason second team.
- Reagan Armour was most recently named the SoCon Player of the Week after batting .667, while Brooke Parrott and Wood each won Pitcher of the Week honors earlier this season.
- Parrott was also selected as the SoCon Pitcher of the Month for February.
- Chattanooga swept ETSU after only taking two of three games against Furman. All four games were at Chattanooga.
- Four Mocs are batting .300 and over: Coltharp (.398), Kruse (.316), Armour (.305), Olivia Lipari (.303).
- Kalli Phillips leads the team with eight homers, while Lipari is second with seven. Seven other Mocs have chipped in at least one home run.
- Lipari (23 RBI), Phillips (22), and Acelynn Sellers (22) are the top Chattanooga RBI producers.
- Coltharp has successfully stolen 16 of 18 bases this season.
- In 22 appearances, Parrott leads the pitching staff with 86.1 innings tossed with a 9-2 record and a 2.27 ERA.
