ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
The 1982 men's soccer team finished 19-3-0 and gave up only three goals on its way to capturing the NCAA Division Ill national championship. The Spartans defeated Lynchburg College and defending Division III titlist Glassboro State College to win the South-New Jersey Regional. The team survived an overtime contest with Plymouth State College in the quarterfinals and Cortland State University in the semifinals. Playing in the finals at Guilford College, the Spartans defeated Bethany College to become the first men's team in University history to win a national championship.
