ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
Ryan Fox made the most of his one season playing men’s golf at UNCG, 1980-81, winning the only individual national championship in the university’s athletics history. He was a three-time individual medalist during the season. He won the Fall Dixie Conference Tournament, the NCAA District III Tournament and finished second in the Dixie Conference Championship in the spring. Fox capped off his stellar year as he won the 1981 individual national title at the NCAA Division III Championship. He was also named to the NCAA Division III All-American First Team as well as the All-Dixie Conference Team. After winning the national championship, Ryan finished second in the North Carolina Amateur Championship.
He graduated from UNCG that year with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
