ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
In 14 years as a supporter of UNCG's intercollegiate athletics program, Mike Burke has led the charge in scholarship fundraising. He created the first athletic endowment in 1987 and has proceeded to raise funds toward a total endowment now valued at more than $4 million - remarkable for a 13-year-old athletics scholarship program. He has been involved with other facets of University fundraising and is a tireless community volunteer.
Mike has been involved in fundraising for 11 of the 20 separate endowed scholarship funds including substantial contributions to establishing The Mayer Textile Athletic Scholarship Endowment (men's soccer), The Lynne C. Agee Athletic Scholarship Endowment (women's basketball), and The Rich Brenner Athletic Scholarship Endowment (women’s tennis).
