ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
Rita Wiggs was a leading player on the women’s basketball team throughout her four years and helped it become one of the best in the Southeast. She was recognized as one of the state’s best players throughout her career. She led the state in scoring as a senior with 22 points per game. She is the only player in team history to be the scoring leader four straight years.
Wiggs also participated in the World University Games training camp in 1973, following her sophomore year, and in 1974, following her junior year, she competed for a USA Regional All-Star team against the USSR National Team, where she was the leading scorer.
