ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
In 29 years of service to UNCG as its first Presbyterian Campus Minister and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Jim played an instrumental role in shaping the course and mapping out the future direction of the University. In 1985, Jim was charged with administrative oversight of the Intercollegiate Athletics program and developing a comprehensive report to move athletics from NCAA Division III to Division I.
Jim was been involved in numerous projects which have improved student life at UNCG. These projects included renovation of the dining facility, building a campus recreation facility, establishment of a disabled student services office, development of a comprehensive career services center, creation of a coordinated student orientation program and creation of a full-time office focused on minority students and their needs.
He also played a major role in renovating residence halls and developing a residence hall occupancy model that is still in existence today.
