UNC Greensboro

Joe was a second-team All-American in 1979, the first male student-athlete in any sport to earn All-American status. He finished 10th out of 120 golfers at the NCAA Division Ill national championship in Midlothian, Va. 
He was the Spartans' No. I golfer all four years, earning All-Dixie Conference honors three times and finishing as the conference runner-up in 1979 when he lost in a sudden-death playoff.
