Joy Scott helped the team reach the NCAA Division I Tournament for the first time and never lose a regular-season conference match.

The defender received All-Big South Conference honors from 1993-96 and was a key contributor to the 1996 squad that made the first NCAA appearance in Division I by a UNCG women’s team.

Scott was selected All-Region teams three years, including third team in 1993, second team in 1995 and third team in 1996. She was on the 1990’s Big South Women’s Soccer All-Decade team.

The Spartans won four Big South Conference regular season titles and two tournament crowns, never losing a regular-season league game in Scott’s career. UNCG’s 16 wins overall in 1996, her senior year, is second all-time in the Big South.

She graduated from UNCG in 1997.

Joy resides in Raleigh, NC along with her husband and two kids and works in the Market Research industry.
