ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
During Maxine Allen’s four years at the Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina, 1931-35, she took the first steps towards becoming the greatest woman bowler in North Carolina history. She gained national fame as a duckpin bowler, setting world records, and earning a top national ranking. She was one of only two North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame inductees who are graduates of the institution now known as UNCG.
