ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
Dock Kelly was a key part of UNCG's first wrestling squad. But he was more than just that, he was an inspiration to all UNCG athletes.
Dock qualified for the NCAA Championships at 126 lbs, in his senior year as an at-large selection, finishing the 1995-96 campaign with a record of 22-7. Twice in his career, he finished third at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships. He is still today one of just 10 wrestlers in UNCG history to record 50 or more career wins.
All the while, Dock competed despite birth defects that left him without part of an arm and a leg. For his achievements, Dock was honored by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame with its Medal of Courage following his senior season.
